This is a significant step forward in Royal Enfield’s plans in LatAm, and reiterates the brand’s commitment to the region, as Brazil is a strong market for Royal Enfield.

Royal Enfield Brazil Ckd Facility

Located in Manaus, capital of Amazonas state, the new facility is the fourth Royal Enfield CKD assembly unit across the world - after Thailand, Colombia and Argentina - in addition to its state-of-the-art manufacturing and ancillary facilities located in India.

With an assembly capacity of more than 15,000 units per year, the local assembly unit in Manaus is a state-of-the-art, modern facility that will cater to growing demand in the country. The facility will engage in local assembly of the entire line-up of Royal Enfield motorcycles, including the new Classic 350, the Meteor 350, the Himalayan, and the 650 twin motorcycles, Continental GT and the Interceptor. With this setup, Royal Enfield can now ensure seamless and quicker delivery timelines for motorcycles in Brazil.

B Govindarajan Ceo Royal Enfield At The Ckd Facili

Speaking at the inauguration of the new facility, Royal Enfield CEO, B Govindarajan, said, “Royal Enfield has been working extensively to grow the middleweight motorcycling segment globally. With markets like the Americas region, Europe and the Asia-Pacific growing significantly, it has been our strategic intent to be closer to these markets and grow the business. We commenced on this journey a couple of years ago and have set up strategic assembly facilities in Thailand, and in Argentina and Colombia in LatAm. Brazil has been a very strong market for Royal Enfield, and is soon poised to be the single largest market for us outside of India. We have seen growth of more than 100% since 2019 here in Brazil. We are very happy to launch our fourth CKD facility globally here in Brazil and this is testament to our commitment to the region and the market potential, and to our growing community of riding enthusiasts in the market. We are confident that this facility will help us grow the mid-segment market here in Brazil while enabling us to efficiently cater to the growing demand."

Brazil has been a critical market for Royal Enfield since the brand’s market foray in 2017. Having made significant strides in the country and across the entire Americas Region, Royal Enfield is now amongst the top five players in the mid-size motorcycle segment in markets such as Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico and North America. With a burgeoning consumer base and a significant retail network in the region, the new local assembly unit will be a critical boost for business growth in the LatAm Region.

Royal Enfield Meteor with Belt Drive & Interceptor Engine Rendered https://indianautosblog.com/royal-enfield-meteor-belt-drive-interceptor-engine-render-p323749 Tue, 01 Jun 2021 10:00:52 +0000 https://indianautosblog.com/?p=323749 Royal Enfield is working on multiple new motorcycles based on its highly popular 650cc platform. While the company remains tight-lipped about the new models, speculations say that along with a cruiser, there could be a 650cc Royal Enfield Meteor in the works, too. Well, until things become official, here’s a rendering of a Meteor that has been fitted with a belt drive and Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 engine.

Royal Enfield Meteor Belt Drive Render

The rendering has been created by an automotive artist that goes by the name “nv._designs” on Instagram. The Royal Enfield Meteor in the picture above looks quite real, so kudos to the artist for this fantastic digital portrait. We can see in the rendering that the Meteor is fitted with the 650cc twin-cylinder engine that we have already experienced on the Interceptor and Royal Enfield Continental GT 650.

Apart from the engine, the artist has also neatly used a belt drive that appears to have been inspired by Harley-Davidson motorcycles. The same can be said about the front forks wearing fork gaiters. Another prominent feature of the Meteor in this rendering is the low-slung short exhaust that, to be honest, suits the overall look of the motorcycle. The seat height seems to have been lowered, too.

The Royal Enfield Meteor in the rendering also rocks smaller size wire-spoke wheels fitted with wide tyres. They look pretty cool and enhance the muscular appeal of the motorcycle. We can also spot a revised front fender. Other than that, the fuel tank, side body panels, tail light, side turn signals, and seats have been borrowed from the original model. The instrument cluster accompanied by the Tripper Navigation system also appears to be left unchanged.

We find the Royal Enfield Meteor in this digital avatar to be quite captivating. And if the said 650cc version of the motorcycle looks something like this, then it’s certainly going to cause a big stir in the industry. What’s your take on this? Let us know in the comments below.

Can Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Beat Classic 350 in Top-End Drag Race? https://indianautosblog.com/royal-enfield-meteor-350-classic-350-drag-race-p323721 Fri, 28 May 2021 14:30:10 +0000 https://indianautosblog.com/?p=323721 Currently, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is the only motorcycle in the Chennai-based company’s entire product lineup that’s based on the firm’s new 350cc platform. The new Royal Enfield Classic 350 built on the same platform has been spotted several times in the past undergoing testing. While we are still waiting for the new model to come out, let’s see how does the existing one perform against the Meteor 350. So, here’s a video that shows a top-end drag race between the two motorcycles.

Before we start with the video, let’s have a quick look at the specs of both motorcycles. The Meteor 350 has got 20.2 bhp of max power and 27 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, 19.1 bhp and 28 Nm is what we get in the Royal Enfield Classic 350.

Aspects Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Royal Enfield Classic 350
Engine type Single-cylinder, air-oil cooled, fuel-injected Single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected
Displacement 349cc 346cc
Max power 20.2 bhp at 6100 rpm 19.1 bhp at 5250 rpm
Max torque 27 Nm at 4000 rpm 28 Nm at 4000 rpm
Gearbox 5-speed 5-speed

Now, coming to the drag race, we can see in the video that in the first race attempt, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 is quicker off the line, perhaps, because of the 1 Nm extra torque. However, it isn’t able to pull away from and the Meteor 350 easily gets past. Since then, there’s no looking back for the Meteor as it continues to gain speed and increase the gap from the Classic. It manages to touch 120 kmph and wins the race. Even the Classic 350 also reaches 120 kmph, however, it takes its sweet to attain this speed.

The riders switch motorcycles for the second race attempt to keep things fair and square. Once again, the Meteor 350 takes the lead without breaking a sweat. With a top speed of just over 120 kmph, it wins the race by a considerable margin. On the other hand, this time, the Classic 350 falls just short of 120 kmph and finishes second. So, even though the output figures of both motorcycles are nearly identical, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 easily beats the Classic 350 in both races.

Watch Foreign Media Review RE Meteor 350 - VIDEO https://indianautosblog.com/re-meteor-350-review-by-foreign-media-p323587 Tue, 18 May 2021 14:00:10 +0000 https://indianautosblog.com/?p=323587 After making its international debut in India last year, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 has gradually started to reach other countries in the world. The all-new 350cc motorcycle has been introduced in the European market and the Philippines. It has also made its way into the USA where it has been launched at a starting price of USD 4,399 that converts to INR 3.21 lakh. While we are quite familiar with the Meteor 350 and have already reviewed it, here’s a video that shows us what the foreign media has to say about the motorcycle.

We can see in the footage that the female rider appreciates the retro-modern design of the Royal Enfield Meteor 350. She applauds the styling, visual aspects, and symmetry of the motorcycle. She also shares details about the colours and variants available in the USA which are the same that we have here in India. So, there are 3 variants in total with the Fireball being the entry-level model. The Supernova is the range-topping model whereas the Stellar sits in the middle.

According to the rider, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 offers a relaxed and upright riding position that makes it easier to cruise comfortably all day long. The motorcycle also has a low seat height which should be a welcoming feature for short, beginner, and female riders. However, the seat doesn’t provide as much comfort as you would expect it to. Perhaps, the seat options available in the accessories list would be better.

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Rear Right

Speaking about the engine of the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, the rider says she likes how the counterbalancer works to keep the vibration levels at a minimum especially in the mid and high revs. She also finds the gearing of the motorcycle to be spot-on which allows her to cruise comfortably on highways doing speeds of around 70 mph (112 km/h). And, of course, there’s Royal Enfield’s proud thump in the exhaust note.

The rider also shares that the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 isn’t meant to ride aggressively, be it on a straight road or twisties. The motorcycle is a cruiser and it does that very well. It even handles brilliantly provided it isn’t pushed too hard. She also finds the bike to be lightweight which is very confidence inspiring especially for beginner riders. Another interesting thing about the Meteor 350 is its Tripper Navigation. Riders can connect their smartphones to this system via Bluetooth and benefit from the turn-by-turn navigation details.

The rider concludes the video by saying that the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 proves to be an overall great package. It might not be the most premium motorcycle out there but it has the potential to open doors for many beginner riders.

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Singapore Launch Remains a Blur https://indianautosblog.com/royal-enfield-meteor-350-singapore-launch-p323559 Mon, 17 May 2021 05:30:30 +0000 https://indianautosblog.com/?p=323559 Royal Enfield has expanded its footprint in Southeast Asia even further by entering Singapore. The company has recently started operations in the region by setting up a new flagship store on Ubi road. The outlet showcases multiple motorcycles, unfortunately, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 isn’t one of them as of now. But would it be launched in the city-state in the future?

As per the available information, the models that are currently available in Singapore include the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. The Classic 500, Bullet 500, and Himalayan are also on sale. However, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 isn’t a part of the company’s catalogue for this market.

Also Read: Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Looks Dashing in Custom Glossy Black Colour

The interesting fact is that Royal Enfield is not offering any 350cc model in Singapore as of now. Even though the Classic 350 and Bullet 350 are on sale in India, they aren’t made available in the city-state. Perhaps, the company feels that the demand for its 350cc models here is low. Does that mean the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 would not be launched in Singapore?

Royal Enfield Meteor With Rider

The Meteor 350 is an important product for Royal Enfield. It’s the first motorcycle that’s based on the company’s new J-platform, which will be implemented in various other future models. RE’s Tripper Navigation system also made its debut with this bike and later found its way into the new Himalayan. Yes, the Meteor is a 350cc model but it uses a brand-new engine. It contains an advanced SOHC and a balancer shaft that help in smoother operation and keep the vibration levels to a minimum.

The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 has been launched in several international markets including Europe and America. It is also on sale in multiple countries in Southeast Asia. Therefore, we think that it would eventually make its way into Singapore and, perhaps, become the first 350cc Royal Enfield motorcycle in the city-state. There’s no official information available in this regard. We’d have to wait and see what does RE decide.

Jawa Perak-Inspired Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Bobber Rendered https://indianautosblog.com/jawa-perak-inspired-royal-enfield-meteor-350-bobber-render-p323549 Sat, 15 May 2021 08:00:04 +0000 https://indianautosblog.com/?p=323549 Taking inspiration from the handsome Jawa Perak, an automotive artist has created a Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Bobber rendering. The bike in the digital portrait contains eye-catching design elements. They change the appearance of the motorcycle making it look quite different from its original avatar.

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Bobber Render

The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Bobber rendering is the work of an automotive artist that goes by the name “nomadic__16__design” on Instagram. We can see in the picture that the fuel tank and side panels have been carried forward from the stock motorcycle. Even the handlebar, headlamp and front blinkers have been left unchanged. We can also spot the windscreen that’s available as an optional accessory with the Meteor 350.

Also Read: Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Looks Dashing in Custom Glossy Black Colour

Perhaps, the most attractive element of this Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Bobber rendering is the single seat. It suits the theme of the motorcycle brilliantly and reminds us of the Jawa Perak. In fact, the portion of the frame below the seat also resembles that of the Perak. Moving towards the rear, there’s a small, round taillamp fitted on top of the rear fender. However, we don’t see any blinkers at the back. Even the number plate holder isn’t present. Perhaps, it’s located on the left side of the bike.

The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Bobber rendering has wire-spoke wheels using knobby tyres. We think that they are overkill here and a pair of road-focused tyres would have made more sense. Don’t you think? Apart from that, the front fender has been shortened to make the motorcycle look sportier. Even though the engine here is the same unit that we would find in an original Meteor, the single, side-mounted, up-swept exhaust appears to have been borrowed from the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 or GT 650. Perhaps, a low-slug, straight-pipe would have suited better for this rendering.

Overall, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Bobber edition is a head-turner. We wonder what would an actual bobber version of the Meteor look like. Do you like this rendering? Drop a comment below and let us know.

While the front end is maintained by a round headlamp with circumferential LED DRL, the rear end is kept busy thanks to an old-school circular taillamp. And even though the motorcycle is available in various shades, a glossy black paint scheme is missing. Royal Enfield should have added this livery in the Meteor’s colour palette as it would have been a killer colour option. Don’t believe us? Well, check out this particular model.

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Pure Black Front 3 Quarte

In the pictures here, that have been shared by “_bee___kay_” on Instagram, we have a Royal Enfield Meteor 350 that has been painted in glossy black colour. And we must say that the Honda H’ness CB350 rival looks dashing in this outfit. Since the Meteor already has a blacked-out engine, alloy wheels, and side panels, giving its fuel tank a glossy black treatment enhanced the overall visual appeal of the motorcycle.

We also like the stickering that has been done on the fuel tank. There’s a simple “Royal Enfield” logo and two vertical silver lines perpendicular to it. This arrangement reminds us of the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650’s Black Magic colour option. Unfortunately, it is no longer a part of the cafe racer’s colour palette for MY2021.

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Pure Black Front Half Rig

This Royal Enfield Meteor 350 in custom glossy black colour option reminds us how a simple change can transform the look of your motorcycle. We find the motorcycle to be elegant and sporty at the same time. What are your views about it? Let us know in the comments below. Also, share with us the colour of your motorcycle if you are a Meteor owner.

In other news, production of Royal Enfield Meteor 350, Classic and other RE models have been temporarily halted. The company has decided to shut down its plants in Chennai considering the spread of the deadly coronavirus in the entire country.

Production of Royal Enfield Meteor, Classic, Others Halted Temporarily https://indianautosblog.com/royal-enfield-meteor-classic-others-production-halted-temporarily-p323528 Thu, 13 May 2021 04:33:54 +0000 https://indianautosblog.com/?p=323528 Production of Royal Enfield Meteor 350, Classic and other RE models have been temporarily halted. The oldest continuous-production motorcycle manufacturer in the world has decided to shut down its plants in Chennai considering the ongoing health situation caused by the second wave of COVID-19.

Royal Enfield has announced that its manufacturing operations across Thiruvottiyur, Oragadam and Vallam Vadagal facilities will remain shut between Thursday, 13 May 2021 and Sunday, 16 May 2021. During this period, the company will undertake maintenance activities at its factories.

Royal Enfield has also said that considering the local lockdowns across states and Union Territories impacting retail operations, it does not foresee any significant impact of temporarily halting production on its ability to fulfil the demand. However, the company will continue to monitor the situation closely and take appropriate actions as the situation progresses; and in line with the directives being issued by the government and administrative authorities.

Royal Enfield teams are focused on ensuring support for employees and communities around its facilities. The company has issued advisories to all dealerships in India to adhere to local regulations and follow local administrative orders, as may apply. All other employees across Royal Enfield's offices, including corporate offices in Chennai and Gurgaon, continue to work from home until further notice.

Royal Enfield is not the only automobile company to shut down its manufacturing facilities in light of the second wave of the deadly coronavirus. Earlier this month, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) had also announced that it will temporarily halt the production operations across all its four manufacturing plants in the country (from 1st May to 15th May 2021).

In other news, expanding its footprint in Southeast Asia even further, Royal Enfield has started its operations in Singapore. It has set up a new flagship store at Ubi road.

Royal Enfield Meteor Touring Screen Fits Perfectly on Honda H’ness https://indianautosblog.com/royal-enfield-meteor-touring-screen-honda-hness-p323430 Fri, 07 May 2021 02:30:34 +0000 https://indianautosblog.com/?p=323430 There are several optional official accessories available for the Royal Enfield Meteor 350. These include engine guards, silencers, passenger backrest, footpegs, seats, rearview mirrors, and more. The Touring Screen Kit can also be purchased as an optional accessory. It comes fitted as standard on the Supernova variant, though. While it does look good on the Meteor, surprisingly, it also fits perfectly and enhances the overall visual appeal of the Honda H’ness CB 350.

Honda Hness Cb350 with royal enfield meteor 350 Windscreen Front Left

We’ve come across a Honda H’ness CB 350 with the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 touring screen. The job has been carried out by an automotive customisation shop called Art of Motorcycles. As it’s visible in the pictures, the accessory fits perfectly on the motorcycle. We don’t see any modifications made to accommodate/install the windscreen. Yes, the handlebar here seems to be an aftermarket piece, however, that doesn’t have anything to do with the touring screen. Surprisingly, it also looks pretty neat, has spot-on dimensions, and should be able to do its job without any hiccups.

The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 touring screen would reduce fatigue while giving the rider a clear view of the road ahead. It is a hard-coated, injection-moulded screen that is made up of high impact acrylic. It is scratch-resistant and comes with a subtle RE branding. There’s also a pressure reduction vent to help prevent low-pressure areas behind the screen which contributes to buffeting. Royal Enfield charges INR 3100 for this touring screen.

Honda Hness Cb350 Cockpit View

Many people use their Honda H’ness CB 350 motorcycles for long-distance touring. The CB350RS sibling seems to be good at it. It comes with a comfortable seat and has relaxed and upright riding ergonomics. Its 348.36cc single-cylinder engine pumps out 21hp of max power at 5500rpm and put out 30Nm of peak torque at 3000rpm and provides enough grunt for easy cruising at decent speeds. Adding the Meteor 350 touring screen should make the H’ness CB 350 even more touring-friendly. Don’t you think?

Would you fit the Meteor 350 touring screen on your Honda H’ness CB350? Let us know in the comments below.

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Touring Edition Rendered https://indianautosblog.com/royal-enfield-meteor-350-touring-edition-render-p323296 Tue, 27 Apr 2021 13:00:15 +0000 https://indianautosblog.com/?p=323296 The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 has 3 variants - Fireball, Stellar, and Supernova. It is the Supernova trim that is the costliest amongst the three as it comes with more premium-looking dual-tone paint schemes and also features a large windscreen and a pillion backrest as standard, making the motorcycle more touring-friendly. However, an automotive artist called Abin Designs has taken things to the next level and digitally imagined a Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Touring Edition. Here’s how the motorbike looks like.

Meteor 350 Touring Edition Render
The combined storage space on this machine should be more than enough for carrying luggage for a long-distance road trip.

We can see in the digital rendering that the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Touring Edition has a semi-fairing. It appears to be aerodynamic in nature and, thus, should help in long-distance, high-speed cruising. The semi-fairing also mounts a larger than stock windscreen. Again, a necessary feature to have while touring on a motorcycle. Moving towards the centre, we find the seat to be larger, too.

Also Read: Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Cafe Racer Digital Avatar Looks Unbelievable

Perhaps, the biggest changes here are the hard case panniers. They have been designed to fit perfectly on the Royal Enfield Meteor 350. They also feature reflectors on the sides for safety purposes. There’s also a top rack at the rear with a hard case top box installed. The combined storage space should be more than enough for carrying luggage for a long-distance road trip. We also feel that the wheelbase of this motorcycle has been slightly extended. The engine, on the other hand, seems to be have been left untouched.

So, powering the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is a 349cc single-cylinder engine. This motor is capable of producing 20.2bhp of max power and 27Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. It is known for its smooth operation and reduced vibration thanks to the presence of an advanced SOHC and a balancer shaft. Some of the key features of the Meteor 350 include alloy wheels, retro-styled lighting, low-slung exhaust, and, of course, Royal Enfield’s Tripper Navigation system.

Meteor-Based 350cc Royal Enfield Motorcycle Spied - Hunter or Roadster? https://indianautosblog.com/350cc-royal-enfield-motorcycle-spied-p323190 Wed, 14 Apr 2021 11:45:57 +0000 https://indianautosblog.com/?p=323190 A bunch of new spy shots have surfaced on the internet. They seem to be of an upcoming 350cc Royal Enfield motorcycle inspired by the Meteor 350. Could it be the Hunter or Roadster?

350cc Royal Enfield Spy Shot Front Left
This motorcycle appears to have a sportier stance than that of the Meteor.

The Meteor 350 is the first Royal Enfield motorcycle that’s based on the company’s newly developed J-platform. It was only a matter of time before RE used this platform as the foundation for its future models. Now, the new spy pictures, that have been shared by Grasholt Vlogs, show us an upcoming Royal Enfield motorcycle that seems to be based on the same J-platform.

Also Read: New Royal Enfield Classic 350 Spied Testing Yet Again

We can see in the spy pictures that this Royal Enfield motorcycle features an upswept exhaust, wide tyres, redesigned side panels, muscular front look, and split grab rails. Going by these elements, we can say that this motorcycle has a sportier stance than that of the Meteor. The taillight and rear side turn signals are located right behind the seat. The license plate is placed at the end of the rear fender. The motorcycle uses disc brakes on both ends and, a closer observation reveals, newly designed alloy wheels.

350cc Royal Enfield Spy Shot Instrument Cluster
The instrument cluster consists of the Tripper Navigation module.

One of the spy shots shows us the instrument cluster of this Royal Enfield motorcycle. It is very similar to that of the Meteor with a big dial containing an analogue speedometer and a small display in the middle. The Tripper Navigation module is located on the right. It allows riders to connect their smartphones to it via Bluetooth and benefit from the turn-by-turn navigation details. It is powered by Google Maps and Royal Enfield app.

The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 uses a 349cc single-cylinder engine that has been appreciated for its smoother operation thanks to the presence of an advanced SOHC and a balancer shaft. We think that the Royal Enfield motorcycle in the spy shots uses the same engine considering its external design.

350cc Royal Enfield Spy Shot Rear Right
The upswept exhaust enhances the overall sporty stance of the motorcycle.

Now, the name of this Royal Enfield motorcycle is unclear at the moment. Some speculations say that it’s the Hunter whereas others suggest that it’d be called the Roadster. The Chennai-based company had trademarked both these titles in the past, however, it hasn’t confirmed for which models it will use them. Going by the visual stance and features of the motorcycle in the spy shots, we think that the Royal Enfield Roadster suits better for this machine. What do you have to say?

The Chennai-based two-wheeler giant has carefully implemented new and interesting design features in the Meteor that enhance the motorcycle’s overall visual appeal. What we have today is an imagination of Abin Designs, an automotive artist, who has created a rendering of Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Cafe Racer which looks really badass.

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Cafe Racer Rendering
The Meteor 350 is almost unrecognisable in its cafe racer avatar.

We can see in the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Cafe Racer rendering that the motorcycle has gone through some serious changes. The outcome and the original model look poles apart. The only stock components that we can spot in the picture include the fuel tank (although placed at a different angle) and the engine. Everything else appears to be heavily tweaked. So, let’s see what all has been changed.

At the front of the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Cafe Racer rendering, we’ve got a smaller, circular headlamp. The clip-on handlebars have been position very lower for an aggressive riding stance. The motorcycle is a single-seater with a cafe-racer-style saddle that also adds an old-school touch. The frame has also been redesigned.

In terms of mechanicals, the spoke wheels with fat tyres are very prominent features of the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Cafe Racer rendering. The front forks appear to be thicker than what we have in the stock motorcycle. The rear shock absorbers are also placed at a new angle. For the brakes, there is a large disc brake at the front whereas the rear uses a drum brake. Apart from all that, the artist has also slapped on, what seems to be, a full-system Akrapovic exhaust and a high-performance air filter.

We find the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Cafe Racer rendering to be very amusing. Wouldn’t it be great if someone could actually make this digital transformation a reality? That would be insane, right? What do you guys have to say about this work of art? Let us know in the comments below.

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Top Speed Test - Can it go Beyond 120km/h? https://indianautosblog.com/royal-enfield-meteor-350-top-speed-test-p323035 Wed, 31 Mar 2021 09:15:30 +0000 https://indianautosblog.com/?p=323035 The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 has been applauded for its surprisingly smooth engine that puts out 20.2bhp of max power and 27Nm of peak torque. It is a brand-new motor that features an advanced SOHC set up and not the conventional pushrod mechanism which Royal Enfield used to have in the previous-gen 350cc mills. The engine also has a balancer shaft that helps to contain the vibration levels.

While the new engine in the new Royal Enfield Meteor 350 performs brilliantly in city riding conditions as well as touring scenarios, it would be interesting to see how capable it is in pulling this motorcycle to its top speed. Let’s find that out in this video that has been uploaded by YouTuber Biker Prakash Choudhary.

We can see in the footage that the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 pulls quite well till 100km/h, post that, the pace at which it gains speed reduces. After keeping the throttle pinned for a considerable amount of time, the rider is able to achieve just above 120km/h. He gives it another go and the result is the same; the motorcycle just couldn’t go any faster than 120-122km/h. Therefore, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 top speed is at around 120 km/h.

The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 isn’t meant for fast riding. Keeping that in mind, a top speed figure of 120km/h is quite decent. The rider says that even at these triple-digit speeds, the motorcycle feels very well planted and stable. The Meteor 350’s expertise lies in the low and mid-range of the rev band. In fact, it can easily cruise at 90-100km/h all day long. Also, thanks to its good ride quality, touring on this motorcycle becomes that much more comfortable and easier.

In other news, Royal Enfield is said to be working on multiple 650cc models for the near future. While details about the upcoming twin-cylinder motorcycles remain a blur as of now, it is being anticipated that a Meteor 650 is under development.

The first thing that we noticed about this Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Scrambler rendering is the revised rider ergonomics. The built has a flat seat that means that the rider will sit a bit higher. We also find the instrument console on the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Scrambler rendering to be a bit different from that of the original motorcycle. It looks like a fully-digital display rather than an analogue dial. The headlight is also smaller. The telescopic front forks have been replaced by a pair of golden USD forks. While the motorcycle here has dual-purpose tyres, the alloy wheels used are the same that come installed in the actual Meteor 350.

The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Scrambler rendering also features a redesigned exhaust. It has a different header pipe that leads into a muffler that is mounted higher up near the seat in a typical scrambler fashion. The rear fender has also been tweaked. The taillamp sits right behind the seat whereas the turn signals and license plate holder are slightly further back.

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Looks Impressive in this Digital Rendering https://indianautosblog.com/royal-enfield-meteor-350-digital-rendering-p322879 Sat, 20 Mar 2021 07:45:40 +0000 https://indianautosblog.com/?p=322879 While the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is enjoying its share of success and fame in the Indian market, it seems that it hasn’t been able to impress enthusiasts in the world of motorcycle customisation. Well, at least, we haven’t come across a neatly-done modified Meteor 350. Have you?

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Modified Right Side
This is a digital rendering of the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 created by an automotive artist called Abin Design.

While we were searching for an alluring modified Royal Enfield Meteor 350 on the internet, we stumbled upon this impressive digital rendering of the motorcycle. It has been created by an automotive artist called Abin Design who, as per the available information, is based in Kottayam, Kerala.

In this digital rendering, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 looks much more aggressive and eye-catching than it does in its stock form. It is quite evident that a lot of changes have been made to the original design of the motorcycle. For example, the size and shape of the fuel tank have been altered and gives a “Harley-Davidson” kinda look. The same can be said about the lowered down handlebar and front fork gaiters.

We can also see in the digital rendering that the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 has been transformed into a single-seater. The saddle looks pretty bare-bones but goes well with the overall visual appeal of the rendering. The rear fender has been shortened and the taillamp has been mounted on its top. One of the key attractions of this model is its front tyre. It’s a knobbier tyre and it certainly looks good. However, on the other hand, the rear tyre is very different from the front one. That’s a mismatch.

Apart from the aforementioned details, this Royal Enfield Meteor 350 digital rendering also contains a redesigned exhaust with heat wrapping done on the header pipe. We also see a dual rotor set up at the front. The instrument console has been borrowed from the stock bike which comes with Royal Enfield’s Tripper Navigation module.

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 vs Honda H’ness CB 350 Exhaust Note Comparo https://indianautosblog.com/royal-enfield-meteor-350-vs-honda-hness-cb-350-exhaust-note-p322891 Fri, 19 Mar 2021 02:45:14 +0000 https://indianautosblog.com/?p=322891 The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and the Honda H’ness CB 350 were amongst the most awaited motorcycles of 2020. The former was launched in November whereas the latter was introduced a bit earlier in September. There are no two ways about the fact that the Meteor 350 and H’ness CB 350 are each other’s direct rivals. So, we decided to create a short video clip to compare their exhaust notes.

In the video, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is the first to be fired up. The motorcycle is revved up a couple of times and we must say that it sounds quite good. Its exhaust note might not have the “original thump” that RE motorcycles are famous for but that doesn’t mean it’s not pleasing to the ears. We feel that it has a good amount of bass even at idle. As the revs climb up, the exhaust note becomes throatier, gruntier, and louder. It’s to be noted that the motorcycle here has the stock exhaust, however, RE does provide official slip-ons.

Now, moving to the Honda H’ness CB 350. As soon as the bike is started, we are greeted by a loud exhaust note. We feel that while it’s loud indeed, it does not have the right amount of bass to it which kinda ruins the experience. There’s a hollowness in the sound which might not be appreciated by everyone. It’s not as pleasing as that of the Meteor 350.

What do you guys have to say about the exhaust notes of the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and Honda H’ness CB 350? Do let us know in the comments below.

In related news, Royal Enfield is said to be working on multiple models based on its successfully 650cc platform. One of those models could be a Meteor 650. On the other hand, Honda launched the CB350RS, a sportier version of the H’ness CB 350, in India last month.
