The new Mahindra Bolero Neo uses the CEAT CZAR HP range of tyres which is a high-performance tyre that offers outstanding control and comfort at all speeds. Its unique interconnected groves and optimised sequence tread block pattern ensure precise vehicle control and low noise at all speeds. The tyre is also designed to provide better steering control and higher fuel efficiency. It has been optimised to perfectly complement the exceptional performance of the new Mahindra Bolero Neo.

Powering the new Mahindra Bolero Neo is a 1.5L mHAWK100 diesel engine capable of producing 100 hp at 3750 rpm and 260 Nm at 1750-2250 rpm. It is mated to a 5-speed transmission sending power to the rear wheels.

For instance, there are eye-catching LED DRLs, a revised front bumper with updated fog lamps, a tweaked front grille with chrome slats, alloy wheels, and a rear spoiler.

The interior of the new Mahindra Bolero Neo has some interesting features, too, that should be welcomed by potential customers. The company says that the interior has been crafted by Pininfarina. Accompanying the beige and black theme are the silver accents on the centre console. The premium fabric seats are also a nice touch. There’s a revised twin-pod instrument cluster, armrests for front and second-row seats, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, voice messaging system, Intellipark reverse assist, cruise control, and more.

Based on the same chassis as the Mahindra Scorpio and new generation Mahindra Thar, the new Mahindra Bolero Neo hides a 1.5L mHAWK100 diesel engine under its hood. This motor is capable of producing 100 hp at 3750 rpm and 260 Nm at 1750-2250 rpm. For the transmission, there’s a 5-speed manual gearbox that sends the power to the rear wheels. Mahindra has also added Micro hybrid technology with ESS (Electronic Start-Stop) for enhanced fuel efficiency.

The new Mahindra Bolero Neo is available at a starting price of INR 8.48 lakh which will get you the base N4 variant. The N8 trim costs INR 9.48 lakh whereas the N10 model will set you back by INR 9.99 lakh. There’s also a higher-spec N10(O) variant which will be equipped with a manual lock differential, however, Mahindra has not revealed its price yet.

The new Mahindra Bolero Neo teaser shows us the upcoming Kia Sonet rival emerging from a cloud of dust in full glory. This highlights that the new Bolero Neo would be a rugged vehicle. And cementing this fact is the caption used in the teaser, “Dare made it to our dictionary. Fear couldn’t.”

Mahindra Bolero Neo Features

The new Bolero Neo is essentially a facelifted Mahindra TUV300. It would come equipped with a redesigned front end for a refreshing appeal. Its front fascia will feature a vertically stacked, 6-slate grille finished in chrome. The tweaked headlamps will be accompanied by horizontal LED DRLs enhancing the overall front look of the vehicle. Some of the other key elements here would include a revised front bumper, fog lamps, and a large air intake. Expect the new Bolero Neo to use silver-finished, five-spoke alloy wheels.

The interior of the upcoming Mahindra Bolero Neo would get a dual-tone dashboard, updated instrument cluster, armrest and headrest for 2nd-row seats, and beige upholstery.

Mahindra Bolero Neo Engine

Powering the new car would be a 1.5L BS6 diesel engine that also does duties in the Mahindra XUV300 where it produces 114 horsepower and 300 Nm. The company might alter the output figures in the new Bolero Neo. As for the transmission, there would be a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Mahindra Bolero Neo Rivals

The new Mahindra will enter a highly competitive and popular segment in the Indian market. Once launched, it will lock horns with the Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, Hyundai Venue, and the likes.

It has been spied several times while getting tested on our roads. Till now, we have revealed several details about the upcoming Mahindra SUV like its modern features and engine options. But recently, the carmaker has revealed important information about its new SUV. The automaker announced that they have plans to offer the XUV700 with an optional electric powertrain. We still don’t know if the XUV700 will be offered with an option of a hybrid powertrain, a plug-in hybrid tech or an all-electric powertrain. Other than this, the SUV will also be offered with a petrol and diesel engine. It will get a 2.2-litre diesel mill, which puts out power and torque outputs of 153bhp and 360 Nm. On the other hand, the SUV will also get propelled by a 2.0-litre petrol engine that shreds out 188bhp of peak power and 380 Nm of twisting force.

This power plant was showcased by Mahindra last year at the Auto Expo 2020 and is also offered with the second-gen Thar. Both engines will be offered with a manual or an automatic gearbox option. The upcoming Mahindra XUV700 will underpin a new platform and is expected to be more spacious compared to the outgoing XUV500. On the feature front, it will get a TFT instrument cluster and a wide touchscreen infotainment unit with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. It will also get several advanced features like blind-spot detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist and so on. In the Indian market, the all-new Mahindra XUV700 will rub shoulders with the likes of MG Hector Plus and Tata Safari.

Based on these spy pictures, our in-house digital artist, Shoed R. Kalania, has created a rendering of the 2021 Mahindra Bolero in its new dual-tone avatar. Now at first glance, the Bolero in this rendering looks mostly similar to the current model on sale, which it is. However, the real highlight of this update is the new dual-tone paint job. The front bumper, grille, wheel arches and body cladding are finished in a new colour in contrast to the red coat on the rest of the body.

Both the colours are completely new for the Mahindra Bolero. Currently, the UV is only offered with three monotone colour options - white, brown and silver. Apart from the red and grey combination already spied, there could be a few more dual-tone colour options that have been added to the palette for 2021 Bolero. Elsewhere, the Bolero is expected to remain pretty much unchanged, continuing with its rugged and butch appeal. With its BS6 update last year, Mahindra slightly revised the styling of the ageing UV  with redesigned headlights and bumpers.

Under the hood, the 2021 Mahindra Bolero is expected to remain unchanged. That means it will continue to be powered by a BS6-compliant 1.5L diesel engine that has been tuned to produce 76PS and 210Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard, driving the rear wheels. Currently, Mahindra sells the Bolero is a total of three trims - B4, B6 and B6(O) - with prices ranging from INR 8.40 - 9.39 Lakh (ex-showroom).

Even in 2021, the Mahindra Bolero remains very bare-bones and basic in terms of its equipment list. Some of the features on offer include power steering, manual AC, power windows, rear wiper, remote locking, driver side airbag, ABS and reverse parking sensors. Mahindra could use this opportunity to introduce a few more features on the Bolero. There is currently no official word on when the updated Bolero will arrive. When launched, it should command a slight premium over the current model.

All-New Mahindra Scorpio

The Scorpio comes from a house that is known around the world for its expertise in high-hauling body types and the SUV has been in India for 2 decades now. One of the biggest changes in the new Mahindra Scorpio 2021 will be in terms of mechanicals. The new Scorpio will come with both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol model will use an all-new 2.0-litre mStallion turbocharged motor, while the diesel version will get an updated, more powerful 2.2-litre mHawk unit. The petrol engine will be rated at 150bhp and 320Nm of torque. The power and torque figures of the updated oil burner could be higher than the existing unit that makes 130bhp and 320Nm.

Spy pictures of the car suggest that the car will feature a 5-slot grille, new headlamps with LED DRLs, a longer bonnet and a revised bumper with wide air intakes. The new-generation model will have a longer wheelbase, with an extended C-pillar. Unlike the test mule that was spotted with steel wheels, the production version (higher trims) will come with alloy units. The rear section might be revised with LED taillights and a larger tailgate with easy ingress and egress.

Hyundai Alcazar

Hyundai is all set to launch the Alcazar in April. The three-row SUV could be priced between INR 12 lakh and INR 18 lakh* and will be available in both 6- and 7-seater configurations. In the domestic market, the car will go up against the MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV500, and Tata Safari. The Alcazar sits above Creta in the product lineup and borrows most of the features and design from the same. The Alcazar will be equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, a semi-digital instrument cluster, and wireless charging.

At its heart, the Hyundai Alzacar will come with two engines: 2.0-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel units. The petrol engine is the same one that powers the Elantra and Tucson but in a slightly higher state of tune to produce 159 PS and 191 Nm while the diesel engine is the same as the Creta’s with 115 PS and 250 Nm. Both engines will be available with the option of 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. It also comes with three drive modes: Eco, City And Sport.

Mahindra XUV700

Mahindra recently unveiled the brand name of its upcoming SUV, built on the W601 platform, as the XUV700 (pronounced as XUV, 7 double ‘Oh’). The car is expected to replace the XUV500 and will be placed below the Alturas G4. Mahindra says that the XUV700 will also come with world-class safety features. The Mahindra XUV700, which is slated to be launched in Q2 FY2022, will be manufactured at the company’s manufacturing facility at Chakan in Maharashtra.

Prices for the current-gen XUV500 starts from INR 13.16 lakh and goes up to INR 18.88 lakh* and we expect the 700 to be priced slightly higher than that. There is a chance that the SUV will borrow its powertrain options from the XUV500 which means, you can expect a BS6-compliant 2.2-litre diesel engine that continues to put out 155 PS and 360 Nm. The SUV gets the option of a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter gearbox. It will offer optional All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) capabilities.

Mahindra Bolero Neo

After the discontinuation of the TUV300 last year, Mahindra is now planning to launch the BS6-compliant version of the TUV300 this year, but with updated styling and a new name – Bolero Neo. The Bolero is a go-to model for a rural buyer looking for a rugged, multi-seater SUV/ MPV. The Bolero NEO will aim to tap a more premium buyer in the rural market and also entry-level urban buyers looking for a better product than Bolero in terms of features and design.

The upcoming Mahindra Bolero Neo (TUV300 facelift) will likely be powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine, which is expected to generate 100 PS and 240 Nm. This motor is expected to be available with two transmission options – a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. The feature list can include a new infotainment system, like the one we saw in Thar. It is, however, unlikely to get a 4WD system.

Kia KY7

There is faint news that has hinted towards Kia’s next offence in India. The car will is likely to be introduced in the MPV segment and will take on the likes of the Toyota Innova, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and others. While there is very little that we know about the car, the upcoming Kia KY MPV is likely to be designed and developed on the Seltos platform, which also underpins the second-generation Hyundai Creta. The car will be offered with 6 and 7-seat configurations. The 6-seater model will feature captain seats for the second row, while the 7-seater will have a bench-type setup. It is likely to come with modular seating options with sliding as well as foldable seats.

Kia has said that the platform can support different body styles and engine options including hybrid, petrol and diesel. In terms of powertrain, the car is most likely to share its engine options with the Seltos. This means you can expect 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol and a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel. While the former is good for 113 bhp and 144 Nm of torque, the oil burner produces 113 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be on offer.

Starting with the Mahindra Scorpio, you can enjoy benefits of up to INR 36,542 for March 2021. Moving over to the Bolero, Mahindra's bread and butter utility vehicle is available with maximum benefits of up to INR 17,500. It is Mahindra's flagship Alturas G4 SUV that can be had with maximum benefits of up to INR 3.06 lakh. Mahindra is offering a flat cash discount of INR 2.2 lakh on the Alturas G4 for March 2021. Additionally, there's an exchange bonus and corporate offer of up to INR 50,000 and INR 16,000, respectively. Mahindra is also offering additional benefits of up to INR 20,000 on the Alturas G4 this month.

Moving over to the Mahindra XUV500, the SUV is listed on the website with benefits of up to INR 85,800. This includes a cash discount of up to INR 36,800, an exchange benefit of up to INR 25,000 and a corporate offer of INR 9,000. Other than this, Mahindra is also offering additional offers of up to INR 15,000. Meanwhile, the KUV100 NXT is available with total benefits of up to INR 62,055. This includes a cash discount of INR 38,055, an exchange bonus of INR 20,000 and corporate offer of INR 4,000.

Moving on to what is Mahindra's one of the more popular vehicles, the XUV300 sub-compact SUV is available with maximum discounts of up to INR 39,325. This comprises a cash discount of INR 4,825, an exchange bonus of INR 25,000 and a corporate discount of INR 4,500. Customers can also avail additional offers of up to INR 5,000. Lastly, the Marazzo MPV is listed with benefits of up to INR 36,000. That includes a cash discount and an exchange bonus of up to INR 15,000 each. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga

In a world dominated by compact SUVs and with the likes of the Vitara Brezza in its portfolio, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is doing rather incredibly well in terms of sales. Not only is it the best-selling Maruti car when it comes to large sized cars from the brand, but it is also the best-selling MPV in India. The Ertiga virtually has no competition and offers a 7-seater cabin at a starting price of just INR 7.59 lakh. Not only this, there’s also a premium version of the Ertiga called the XL6. The Carnival can be had either in seven-, eight- and even a nine-seat configuration.

Kia Limousine’s VIP seats are available only in the seven-seat configuration with special reclining and sliding adjustments, along with leg extension. Kia offers a single powertrain in the Carnival. This means, on offer is a 2.2-litre diesel engine that develops 200 PS and 440 Nm and is offered with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Prices for the Carnival starts at INR 24.95 lakh* for the Premium 7-seater variant, while prices for the top-rung 7-seater Limousine variant costs INR 33.95 lakh*.

Maruti Suzuki XL6

The Maruti Suzuki XL6 was aimed to be a premium offering of the Ertiga and shares the same underpinnings and mechanicals. The car gets minor cues from the Ertiga, but the resemblance is veiled by tweaked elements. For instance, the XL6 gets new colour options like the Nexa Blue, Brave Khaki, Magma Grey, Auburn Red, Arctic White and Premium Silver. Upfront, the car also gets a new quad LED headlamps, DRLs, a chunkier bumper and a faux skid-plate that distinguishes it from the Ertiga. The engine is rated at 103bhp and 138Nm of torque. Additionally, the car also features Maruti Suzuki’s SHVS mild-hybrid technology with an additional lithium-ion battery to aid fuel efficiency.

Datsun Go+

The Datsun Go+ stands as the most affordable 7-seater in India. The car, which is essentially a stretched Go with an additional row of seats, is right suited for a family of seven or less. Its last facelift was back in 2018 when the car benefited from a few tweaks inside and out. However, the icing on the cake came recently on the form of an option for an automatic transmission.

Visually, the car resembles its five-seater sibling on the outside, inside as well as the sumptuous list of features for its price. This list includes elements like a 7.0-inch touchscreen system which offers all the functionality expected of a car in this segment like Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity and light and dark mode, deep door pockets, covered glove box, a rear parcel shelf.

In terms of safety, the car gets a dual front airbags, rear side crash protection, pedestrian protection regulation, central locking as well ABS with EBD as standard across the range. At its heart, the Datsun Go+ is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 75bhp and 104Nm of torque. The car gets two transmission options including a 5-speed manual and a CVT.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga

The Maruti Ertiga stands as the mainstay of the 7-seater space with maximum sales while not being as affordable as the Datson Go+. This difference in price can be reasoned with various aspects. The car's latest update is a major step up over its previous iteration. The deal has also become sweeter with features like the touchscreen infotainment system, rear AC, automatic climate control, ABS with EBS, dual air-bags, and ISOFIX rear seats among others.

After the BS-VI update, the car now comes with just one engine options which is a 1.5-litre unit that delivers 103 bhp and 138 Nm of torque. Transmission options for the car come in the form of a manual as well as a torque converter. The rest of the gadgets and mechanicals are same as the XL6 we mentioned above.

Maruti Suzuki Eeco

After an unsuccessful run with the Versa, Maruti Suzuki launched the Eeco that was aimed to walk in the footsteps of the glorified Omni in India. The car does not take giant leaps in terms of looks from its predecessors but is acclaimed to be a perfect fit for Indian families and road conditions by the company. Powering the car is a 1.2-litre petrol engine which delivers 73 bhp at 6,000 rpm and a torque of 101 Nm via a five-speed manual gearbox with Diagonal Shift Assistance (DSA) that powers the rear wheels.

The Eeco comes in five-seater as well as seven-seater options. The seven-seater model can be bought in just one basic variant, whereas the five-seater is available in four variants – basic five-seater, five-seater with A/C plus heater, five-seater with heater and CNG, five-seater with A/C plus heater and the CNG. The Eeco is sold in six different colours in India namely Superior White, Metallic Midnight Black, Metallic Silky Silver, Bright Red, Metallic Blue Blaze and Metallic Glistening Grey.

Mahindra Bolero

The Mahindra Bolero is seen as the most trusted SUV/ MUV for the rural market and is still the best selling Mahindra in the market. The BS-VI Bolero is available in three variants including B4, B6 and B6 (O). The BS6 Mahindra Bolero facelift is powered by a BS6-compliant 1.5-litre mHawk75 diesel engine that produces 75bhp at 3,600rpm and 210Nm of torque between 1,600-2,200rpm. This engine is paired to a five-speed manual transmission.

Exterior highlights of the BS6 Mahindra Bolero facelift include a redesigned fascia with a new bumper, new grille, new headlamps static bending headlamps, rear washer and wiper and fog lamps. Inside, the model comes equipped with driver Information System with features such as distance travelled, distance to empty, gear indicator, door ajar indicator and digital clock with day and date. Also on offer are fabric seats, power windows, central locking, keyless entry and a 12V charging port.

Customers buying the Mahindra Alturas G4 can avail a cash discount of INR 2.20 lakh, an exchange bonus of INR 50,000, a corporate discount of INR 16,000, and accessories worth INR 20,000. Similarly, in the case of the XUV500, customers can get a cash discount of INR 13,000 along with an exchange bonus of INR 30,000 and a corporate discount of INR 9,000 for the W5 and W7 variants. The rest of the variants of the XUV500 can be availed with an additional benefit in the form of accessories worth INR 5,000.

The Mahindra Scorpio is being offered with a cash discount of up to INR 20,000, an exchange bonus of INR 25,000, a corporate discount of INR 5,000 and accessories worth INR 10,000. However, these offers are only applicable to the S5 variant of the car.

The Bolero is being offered with a cash discount of INR 6,500, an exchange bonus of INR 10,000 and a corporate discount of INR 4,000. Similarly, the Marazzo can be bought with a cash discount of up to INR 15,000, an exchange bonus of INR 15,000 a corporate discount of INR 6,000 and accessories worth INR 5,000.

Mahindra is also offering benefits for the petrol variants of the Mahindra XUV300 including an exchange bonus of INR 25,000 and a corporate discount of INR 5,000. The diesel variants of the model are available with a cash discount of INR 10,000, an exchange bonus of INR 25,000, a corporate discount of INR 5,000 and complementary accessories of up to INR 6,550.

It should be noted that Mahindra is currently not offering any benefits on the all-new Thar or the KUV100NXT. The new Thar SUV is doing exceptionally good for the Indian automaker and is commanding a waiting period of almost 9 years on select variants. Mahindra also sold more than 2,500 Thars in November.

Mahindra Thar

Mahindra recently launched the second-gen Thar to an eager crowd. The popularity of the car was reiterated after Mahindra decided to auction the first unit online. The car went under the gavel for a whopping INR 1.11 crore. The money from the auction is going to be put to use for Covid-19 relief. In its second generation, the new Thar comes with two engine options – a 2.0-litre mStallion TGDi Petrol engine and a 2.2-litre mHawk Diesel engine. These will be available with the choice of a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission and a 6-speed manual transmission mated to an authentic manual shift-on-the-fly 4x4 transfer case.

Mahindra has also come out with three roof options that include a Hard Top, a first-in-class Convertible Top and an optional Soft Top. There are a total of 13 variants to choose from, depending on engine, gearbox, roof type and features. Designed and engineered in India and manufactured out of Mahindra’s Nashik Plant, the all-new Thar is available in 6 colour options - Red Rage, Mystic Copper, Napoli Black, Aquamarine, Galaxy Grey and Rocky Beige. In addition to this, one can have the Mahindra Thar in two seating options - 4 front-facing seats and 2+4 side-facing seat configuration.

In an attempt to make the car a bit more appealing to a wider audience, the Thar has been updated with modern features like a drizzle-resistant 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system.  The Thar also comes with cruise control, roof-mounted speakers and adventure statistics displays. It has got an update in terms of safety too as it gets things like ABS with EBD, dual airbags, ESP with rollover mitigation, hill-hold and hill descent control.

Mahindra XUV300

The XUV300 operates in the hotly contested compact SUV segment in India and has returned respectable sales figures for the company. The top-spec variant of the car comes with segment-first features including seven airbags, dual-zone climate control with memory function, front parking sensors, heated mirrors, and disc brakes for all four wheels. Other noteworthy features include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, sunroof, cruise control, push-button start, leather seats, and hill hold function.

Mechanically, the car is powered by two engine options that come in the form of a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The petrol unit delivers 109 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the oil burner outputs 115 bhp and 300 Nm of torque. In the domestic market, the XUV300 locks horns with a few of the best selling cars in India including the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon and the recently launched Kia Sonet.

Mahindra Bolero

The Mahindra Bolero, for many years, has been the best-selling Mahindra product, thanks to its popularity in the rural market. The no-frill SUV is known for its cabin space, ruggedness, and killer pricing. Mahindra discreetly introduced the BS6-compliant Bolero facelift in India, with prices starting at INR 7.76 lakh*. The model will be available in three variants including B4, B6 and B6 (O).

Mahindra KUV100

The KUV100 was India's first sub-compact SUV. Some people also called it the micro SUV. The Mahindra KUV100 is the smallest offering from the company yet, leaving aside the all-electric e2O Plus and the e-Verito. It was launched in 2016. The car was introduced to lure buyers who have a budget of a hatchback, yet want to buy an SUV. Interestingly, to add the Utility Vehicle factor in the KUV100, which Mahindra specializes in, a 6-seater cabin was offered with 3+3 seating alongside a 5-seater cabin.

Among the many firsts that Mahindra offered in the KUV100 were the three-cylinder petrol and diesel engines.  However, in the subsequent model called the KUV100 NXT, which was launched as a facelift to the KUV100, Mahindra discontinued the diesel engine and now offers only the mFalcon G80 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 82 bhp and 115 Nm output. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Mahindra offers the Kuv100 with several features including a 7.8cm Touchscreen Infotainment System with In-built Driver Information System, Bluetooth Audio & Handsfree call, USB, AUX among others. The engine has Micro Hybrid Technology with Engine Start-Stop, while safety-wise, it gets dual airbags, ABS with EBD among others. The Mahindra KUV100 price starts at INR 5.54 lakh*.

With the inclusion of the new B2 variant, the Mahindra Bolero now has a total of 4 trims - B2, B4, B6, and B6(O). Earlier, the B4 variant was the entry-level model of the Bolero. Now, it is the B2 trim. At INR 7.64 lakh*, the new Mahindra Bolero B2 is INR 36,000 more affordable than the B4 variant.

While Mahindra is yet to release the full spec sheet of the Bolero B2, being an entry-level model, we can expect it to have only the basic features. For example, it would come equipped with power steering, manual AC, and driver side airbag. Mahindra might also include ABS for enhanced braking and rear parking sensors as another safety feature.

Other features such as power windows, rear wiper, remote locking, etc., that are usually found in the higher variants of the MUV, might not be included in the base B2 model.

Under the hood of the new Mahindra Bolero B2 is the 1.5-litre diesel engine which produces 75 PS of maximum power and 210 Nm of peak torque. The motor is coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission that drives the rear wheels.

In other news, Mahindra has reintroduced the XUV500 Diesel AT in the BS6 avatar. The automatic variant of the diesel SUV was discontinued when the company updated the line-up to meet the Bharat Stage 6 emission standards. The new BS6 Mahindra XUV500 Diesel AT is available in 3 variants with prices starting at INR 15.65 lakh*.

The new Mahindra Bolero Power+ has a more upmarket look to it with an updated design. It features new, static bending headlamps, new upper grille and lower grille, X-shaped front bumper, new front fog lamps and clear lens tail lamps. The bonnet has more insulation for a more refined driving experience.

Inside, the 2020 Mahindra Bolero Power+ features new, four-spoke steering wheel borrowed from the Mahindra TUV models. On the safety front, driver airbag, front SBR, ABS and reverse parking sensors are standard. This is India’s first model with metal bumpers to comply with the pedestrian safety norms that will become effective in October this year.

Under the hood, the new Mahindra Bolero Power+ has an upgraded, BS6 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine called mHawk75. The new engine produces 55.9 kW (76.00 PS) at 3,600 rpm and 210 Nm of torque at 1,600-2,200 rpm. The BS4 1.5-litre mHawk70 turbocharged diesel engine of the discontinued model developed 52.5 kW (71.38 PS) at 3,600 rpm and 195 Nm of torque at 1,400-2,200 rpm.

Like the old engine, the new engine is linked to a 5-speed manual transmission. Unlike in the old model, the fuel-sipping micro-hybrid technology (engine start-stop system) is standard.

The Mahindra Bolero has undergone a lot of changes with the BS6 transition. It has received a facelift as well as a safety upgrade. The revised model has started reaching dealerships and will go on sale very soon.

The 2020 Mahindra Bolero is available in three grades, namely B4, B6 and B6 (O). The prices of the facelifted model in these grades are INR 7.98 lakh*, INR 8.64 lakh* and INR 8.99 lakh* respectively. The old model is available in LX, SLE, SLX and ZLX grades, at INR 7.62 lakh*, INR 7.98 lakh*, INR 8.64 lakh* and INR 8.99 lakh* respectively. It will go out of stock soon.

The new Mahindra Bolero is made in only the Power+ length-restricted version. It is India's first model with metal bumpers that are going to become mandatory when the new pedestrian safety norms become effective in October. The bonnet of the new model has more insulation and that should lead to a slightly more refined driving experience.

The facelifted Mahindra Bolero Power+ features a newly designed front bumper, revised headlamps with static bending light, new radiator grille, fresh graphics and clear-lens rear lights. The interior design is almost the same as that of the old model, but there is a new, four-spoke steering wheel, which has been borrowed from the Mahindra TUV300 and Mahindra TUV300 Plus.

The old Bolero Power+ uses the 70 HP 1.5-litre mHawk70 turbocharged three-cylinder diesel engine. The new Bolero Power+ employs a 75 HP 1.5-litre mHawk75 turbocharged three-cylinder diesel engine, which is basically an upgraded, BS6 version of the old model’s BS4 engine. Like in the old model, a 5-speed manual transmission is standard and there’s no 4WD system option.

The Mahindra Bolero has received a facelift along with its BS-VI upgrade. The best-selling Mahindra now tries to look more modern with a new front bumper, tweaked headlamps featuring LED DRL, new radiator grille, new graphics and clear-lens rear lights.

On the inside, the 2020 Mahindra Bolero features a new, four-spoke steering wheel. It’s the same unit that is used in the Mahindra TUV300 and Mahindra TUV300 Plus. The dashboard, instrument panel and the centre console are the same as those of the old model.

Unlike the old Mahindra Bolero, the new Mahindra Bolero will be available in only the Power+ version seen here. The regular version, which is longer than 4,000 mm in length, isn’t as appealing as the Power+ version, and that’s mainly because of the pricing. The Power+ version enjoys lower GST because of its length-restricted body, and so, it can be sold at lower prices.

The 2020 Mahindra Bolero is said to employ an upgraded version of the old model’s BS4 70 HP 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder diesel engine. The new version will reportedly be BS-VI compliant and have a maximum power rating of 71 HP.

Mahindra offers the old Bolero Power+ in LX, SLE, SLX and ZLX trims. The company will reportedly sell the new Bolero Power+ in B4, B6 and B6 (O) trims. The new model will likely be costlier too. For reference, the prices of the old model range from INR 7.62 lakh* to INR 8.99 lakh*.
