Badges like the Bolero and Scorpio has spoken volumes about the brand’s position in the Indian market. While India’s love for SUVs remains a well-proven fact, Mahindra has done a rather splendid job in leveraging this affinity and tailoring its products according to the likes of the Indian consumers.

Best Mahindra Cars Under Inr 10 Lakh

That being said, as the country now opens up in phases, normalcy is far from what it was before, auto sales are expected to rise as consumers are now conscious about safety and health. Hence, people have cut their budget and researches have shown that cars below INR 10 lakh are the ones getting more traction than the more expensive ones. So if you are in the market looking for your next affordable car under INR 10 lakh, here’s what’s on offer from the house of Mahindra.

Mahindra Thar

Mahindra Thar Delhi

Mahindra recently launched the second-gen Thar to an eager crowd. The popularity of the car was reiterated after Mahindra decided to auction the first unit online. The car went under the gavel for a whopping INR 1.11 crore. The money from the auction is going to be put to use for Covid-19 relief. In its second generation, the new Thar comes with two engine options – a 2.0-litre mStallion TGDi Petrol engine and a 2.2-litre mHawk Diesel engine. These will be available with the choice of a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission and a 6-speed manual transmission mated to an authentic manual shift-on-the-fly 4x4 transfer case.

Mahindra has also come out with three roof options that include a Hard Top, a first-in-class Convertible Top and an optional Soft Top. There are a total of 13 variants to choose from, depending on engine, gearbox, roof type and features. Designed and engineered in India and manufactured out of Mahindra’s Nashik Plant, the all-new Thar is available in 6 colour options - Red Rage, Mystic Copper, Napoli Black, Aquamarine, Galaxy Grey and Rocky Beige. In addition to this, one can have the Mahindra Thar in two seating options - 4 front-facing seats and 2+4 side-facing seat configuration.

In an attempt to make the car a bit more appealing to a wider audience, the Thar has been updated with modern features like a drizzle-resistant 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system.  The Thar also comes with cruise control, roof-mounted speakers and adventure statistics displays. It has got an update in terms of safety too as it gets things like ABS with EBD, dual airbags, ESP with rollover mitigation, hill-hold and hill descent control.

Mahindra XUV300

Mahindra Xuv300 Front Three Quarters

The XUV300 operates in the hotly contested compact SUV segment in India and has returned respectable sales figures for the company. The top-spec variant of the car comes with segment-first features including seven airbags, dual-zone climate control with memory function, front parking sensors, heated mirrors, and disc brakes for all four wheels. Other noteworthy features include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, sunroof, cruise control, push-button start, leather seats, and hill hold function.

Mechanically, the car is powered by two engine options that come in the form of a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The petrol unit delivers 109 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the oil burner outputs 115 bhp and 300 Nm of torque. In the domestic market, the XUV300 locks horns with a few of the best selling cars in India including the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon and the recently launched Kia Sonet.

Mahindra Bolero

Mahindra Bolero B2 Front Rt

The Mahindra Bolero, for many years, has been the best-selling Mahindra product, thanks to its popularity in the rural market. The no-frill SUV is known for its cabin space, ruggedness, and killer pricing. Mahindra discreetly introduced the BS6-compliant Bolero facelift in India, with prices starting at INR 7.76 lakh*. The model will be available in three variants including B4, B6 and B6 (O).

Exterior highlights of the BS6 Mahindra Bolero facelift include a redesigned fascia with a new bumper, new grille, new headlamps static bending headlamps, rear washer and wiper and fog lamps. Inside, the model comes equipped with driver Information System with features such as distance travelled, distance to empty, gear indicator, door ajar indicator and digital clock with day and date. Also on offer are fabric seats, power windows, central locking, keyless entry and a 12V charging port.

The BS6 Mahindra Bolero facelift is powered by a BS6-compliant 1.5-litre mHawk75 diesel engine that produces 75 bhp at 3,600 rpm and 210 Nm of torque between 1,600-2,200 rpm. This engine is paired to a five-speed manual transmission. There's no 4x4 on offer. Also, the Bolero does not have many safety features on offer, perhaps, to keep the price in check.

Mahindra KUV100

Mahindra KUV100 NXT Red & Black front three quarters

The KUV100 was India's first sub-compact SUV. Some people also called it the micro SUV. The Mahindra KUV100 is the smallest offering from the company yet, leaving aside the all-electric e2O Plus and the e-Verito. It was launched in 2016. The car was introduced to lure buyers who have a budget of a hatchback, yet want to buy an SUV. Interestingly, to add the Utility Vehicle factor in the KUV100, which Mahindra specializes in, a 6-seater cabin was offered with 3+3 seating alongside a 5-seater cabin.

Among the many firsts that Mahindra offered in the KUV100 were the three-cylinder petrol and diesel engines.  However, in the subsequent model called the KUV100 NXT, which was launched as a facelift to the KUV100, Mahindra discontinued the diesel engine and now offers only the mFalcon G80 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 82 bhp and 115 Nm output. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Mahindra offers the Kuv100 with several features including a 7.8cm Touchscreen Infotainment System with In-built Driver Information System, Bluetooth Audio & Handsfree call, USB, AUX among others. The engine has Micro Hybrid Technology with Engine Start-Stop, while safety-wise, it gets dual airbags, ABS with EBD among others. The Mahindra KUV100 price starts at INR 5.54 lakh*.

Next-Gen Mahindra KUV100 Rendered, Could It Be the XUV100? https://indianautosblog.com/next-gen-mahindra-kuv100-render-p321617 Tue, 22 Sep 2020 05:45:30 +0000 https://indianautosblog.com/?p=321617 Mahindra’s video of the Thar's capabilities was sure a treat. However, squint your eyes and you might notice a tiny little detail in the background that came in the form of an SUV in camo that was being tested in the facility. While we are not entirely sure which one was it, an apt bet would be the next generation KUV100. In 2018, there were reports of Mahindra planning to name the next-gen KUV100 as XUV100. And the matter has been silent since then. So as the car has now supposedly made an appearance again, our in-house designer Shoeb has rendered a car with all the details that we know so far.

As visible in the digital rendering, the new KUV100 is inspired by the elder sibling XUV300 in terms of the front end design. The narrow grille gets chrome diagonal slats same as the XUV300 and also sleek pointed LED DRLs. As in the new age SUVs, the headlamp unit is placed close to the fog lamps. There's ample use of body cladding throughout while the alloys are petal-shaped. There's no image of the cabin and the rear basis which we could have given you our design renderings.

While there are very little details about the KUV100 in the market, a few notable aspects of the car could be speculated at this time. For instance, being an entry-level car, Mahindra will stick to its decision of giving it only petrol powertrains. This could mean that powering the car would be a 1.2-litre mFalcon G80 petrol engine, currently seen in the KUV100NXT, which produces 82 PS and 115 Nm.

Speaking of features, the car could benefit from a touchscreen infotainment system with Mahindra BlueSense, auto climate control and steering-mounted controls along with safety features including ABS with EBD, ISOFIX mounts and airbags.

Powering the next-gen KUV100 would be a 1.2-litre mFalcon G80 petrol engine, currently seen in the KUV100NXT.

The transition from a KUV to an XUV could be justified by the need to add more relevance within the range. This could also be an important move considering that the competition is soon set to be stiff with upcoming offerings like the Tata HBX.

The price tag will closely resemble the KUV100 NXT starting from INR 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom).

Mahindra E Kuv100 Front Three Quarters Auto Expo 2
The Mahindra eKUV100 electric SUV will serve as a replacement for the now-discontinued Mahindra e2o.

The Mahindra eKUV100 debuted in production form at Auto Expo 2020. It has a 15.9 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack that provides a driving range of 147 km. There's a single electric motor generating 40 kW and 120 Nm of torque using the electricity stored in this battery pack.

The Mahindra eKUV100 has been priced at INR 8.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi, incl. FAME-II subsidy). It will fill the void of the Mahindra e2o and be targeted mainly at fleet customers. It will go on sale as India’s most affordable electric SUV by June this year.

2. 2020 Mahindra Thar (codename: Mahindra W501)

2020 Mahindra Thar Spied Images 1
The next-gen Mahindra Thar will feature a forward-facing rear seat, a touchscreen infotainment system and cruise control.

Soon after the Mahindra electric KUV100, the 2020 Mahindra Thar will follow. It will be the second generation of India’s most popular budget off-roader. The next-gen Mahindra Thar will feature an evolutionary design but it will be much bigger and more suitable as a daily driver with a host of comfort-oriented changes.

Mahindra will likely offer the all-new Thar with newly developed 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol and 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engines. The company plans to launch the 2020 Thar also by June this year.

3. Mahindra Atom (codename: Mahindra C100)

Mahindra Atom Auto Expo 2020
The Mahindra Atom features AC, rear-seat entertainment system and 4G connectivity.

The Mahindra Atom is a last-mile connectivity vehicle that debuted in production form at Auto Expo 2020. Like the Mahindra eKUV100, it is an EV for shared mobility in urban areas. It features AC, rear-seat entertainment system and 4G connectivity. Powered by the MESMA 48V powertrain.

Mahindra says that the Atom has the agility of a three-wheeler and the comfort and safety of a car. It will release this product in the domestic market between July and September this year.

4. 2021 Mahindra XUV500 (codename: Mahindra W601)

2021 Mahindra Xuv500 White Rendering
The next-gen Mahindra XUV500 will likely have a much stronger construction and may receive a 5-star ANCAP safety rating.

The 2021 Mahindra XUV500 will be the second generation of what once used to be the flagship Mahindra SUV. It will have a completely new design, with certain elements reminiscent of the Mahindra Funster electric roadster concept from Auto Expo 2020.

Sitting on an all-new monocoque platform, the next-gen Mahindra XUV500 will likely come with newly developed 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and diesel engines. It will be launched between January and March 2021.

5. 2021 Mahindra Scorpio (codename: Mahindra Z101)

Mahindra Scorpio 2020 Front Quarter
The 2021 Mahindra Scorpio will look totally different from its predecessor.

With the MY2021 update, the Mahindra Scorpio will get a complete overhaul for the first time. It will have barely any traces of the old design and look way more upmarket.

Underpinning the next-gen Mahindra Scorpio will be the same ladder-frame chassis as the next-gen Mahindra Thar. The all-new compact SUV should boost Mahindra’s sales significantly in semi-urban and rural territories. The company plans to launch it between April and June 2021.

6. Mahindra eXUV300 (codename: Mahindra S210)

Mahindra E Xuv300 Concept Front Three Quarters Lef
Like the Tata Nexon EV, the Mahindra eXUV300 may incorporate the new design which the ICE SUV it'll be based on will get with its facelift right from the beginning.

The Mahindra eXUV300 debuted in concept form at Auto Expo 2020. As its name suggests, it’s the pure electric variant of the Mahindra XUV300 small SUV. It’s powered by the MESMA 350V powertrain.

The eXUV300, Mahindra’s first new-age EV for personal mobility, will reportedly be available with two different battery packs, one of which will offer a higher driving range of over 370 km. The company plans to launch this electric SUV between July and September 2021.

Mahindra eKUV100 launched, priced from INR 8.25 lakh - Live From Auto Expo 2020 https://indianautosblog.com/mahindra-ekuv100-launched-price-inr-825-lakh-live-auto-expo-2020-p319690 Wed, 05 Feb 2020 09:53:00 +0000 https://indianautosblog.com/?p=319690 The Mahindra e-KUV100 has been launched in India at Auto Expo 2020. Priced from INR 8.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi, post-FAME-II subsidy), it is the country's cheapest EV.

The Mahindra e-KUV100 has minor design differences compared to the Mahindra KUV100. It features a closed-off upper grille with distinctive pattern, silver trim behind the headlamps, silver license plate applique with + and - symbols, Mahindra Electric branding and blue accents all around. Blue has been used on elements even inside the car.

The dimensions of the pure electric variant should be similar to those of the Mahindra KUV100. What's different is actually under the hood. Instead of a three-cylinder internal combustion engine, there's a single electric motor running the front wheels. This motor delivers a maximum power of 40 kW and a maximum torque of 120 Nm.

The Mahindra e-KUV100's energy source is a 15.9 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack, which can be fast-charged to 80% in 55 minutes. The battery pack is liquid-cooled to combat the hot climate of India. The range is 147 km. This model is meant for urban driving mainly.

Smartphone connectivity, remote diagnostics, cabin precooling, location tracking, driving pattern monitor, remote door lock/unlock and battery status indicator are some of the salient features of the electric Mahindra KUV100.

Mahindra Exuv300 Mahindra Ekuv100 Teaser
Mahindra will launch the eKUV100 this year and the pure electric variant of the XUV300 in 2021.

The teaser image shows the pure electric variant of the XUV300 on the left and the production eKUV100 on the right. Previously, it has come to light that the all-electric version of the XUV300 is being developed and will launch sometime in the first half of FY2022 (April-September CY2021).

Codenamed Mahindra S210, the Mahindra eXUV300 will be made available in two versions, one with a smaller battery pack and one with a bigger battery pack that allows worry-free inter-city travel as well. The base version will be capable of returning a ~200 km full-charge range, while the latter will return up to 350-400 km range.

In a nearly two-year-old product pipeline image (below), the Mahindra eXUV300 can be seen featuring a 90 kW (122.37 PS) motor. It will be a direct rival to the likes of the Tata Nexon EV which was launched in the market yesterday.

The company will also display the production eKUV100 at Auto Expo 2020. Its development has already been confirmed in the past reports, and when launched, it will be priced under INR 9 lakh.

The version displayed at the Auto Expo 2018 came kitted with a 30 kW (40.79 PS) electric motor which sources charge from a Lithium-ion battery pack. In this configuration, the eKUV100 is capable of returning a full-charge range of 140 km. It supports both DC fast charging as well, which allows the battery to attain 80% charge in under 60 minutes.

Auto Expo 2020: Mahindra XUV500 EV concept teased, to spawn 2020 Mahindra XUV500 https://indianautosblog.com/auto-expo-2020-mahindra-xuv500-ev-concept-teased-spawn-2020-mahindra-xuv500-p319588 Wed, 29 Jan 2020 09:51:42 +0000 https://indianautosblog.com/?p=319588 The next-gen Mahindra Thar will skip Auto Expo 2020, but the next-gen Mahindra XUV500 is coming to the show, albeit as a pure electric concept model. A teaser image of the Mahindra XUV500 EV concept has been released.

2020 Mahindra Xuv500 Concept Ev Auto Expo 2020 Tea
The all-electric Mahindra XUV500 will spawn out the next-gen XUV500, both will share a similar exterior design.

The star at Mahindra's Auto Expo 2020 pavilion, the XUV500 EV concept features a flat bonnet and is wide and low, and this gives it a squat stance. Its partially revealed exterior design reminds us of the new generation SsangYong Korando because of similar proportions.

The Mahindra XUV500 EV concept boasts LEDs aplenty at the front. Apparently, the number three has some special significance for this model. That's evident in the L-shaped angular headlights, the horizontal strips located inside the powerful squarish portion below them and the virtual grille slats flanking the virtual Mahindra emblem.

The production next-gen Mahindra XUV500 (codename: Mahindra XUV500) will be kitted with automatic LED headlamps, LED taillights, flush door handles, 18-inch alloy wheels and much more. What's noticeable from the teaser image is that the XUV500 EV will feature sleeker high-set LED headlamps as seen on the all modern SUVs. This will be a huge leap forward from the current XUV500's design.

Spy images have revealed that, on the inside, the 2020 Mahindra XUV500 will feature a completely redesigned dashboard layout with a large floating-type infotainment touchscreen placed centrally on the dash. Moreover, it will also use a new three-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel. A fully digital instrument cluster is expected.

2018 Mahindra XUV500 profile
Like the original Mahindra XUV500, the next-gen Mahindra XUV500 will be a monocoque C-SUV.

Underpinned by a newly developed platform that will form the basis for even an India-specific Ford C-SUV, the next-gen Mahindra XUV500 will be available with a newly developed BS-VI compliant 180 PS 2.0-litre diesel engine and a 2.0-litre petrol engine. A pure electric variant, possibly in a coupe version, is expected to be seen in the showrooms at a later stage.

Dr. Pawan Goenka, Managing Director, Mahindra Group, has confirmed that it will be priced under INR 9 lakh (ex-showroom).

Mahindra e-KUV100 front three quarters at Auto Expo 2018
The current Mahindra KUV100 might be a slow seller, but the eKUV100 will try to change its fate

"Electric mobility is now the future. We are looking at various options and shared mobility is a priority for us over a personal one," Goenka told The Economic Times recently. "So the price is a critical factor, and Mahindra is breaking the price barrier with a sub-9-lakh SUV, which will be the eKUV and help us to expand beyond the current commercial market," he added.

If you recall, Mahindra had showcased the eKUV100 at Auto Expo 2018. It's fairly clear that the company is working on a number of dedicated EVs and part of them are the models like eKUV100 and the XUV300 Electric.

The Mahindra eKUV100 employs a 30 kW (40.79 PS) electric motor which is juiced-up by a Lithium-ion battery pack. It can cover over 140 km in a single charge. It will support both AC fast charging and DC fast charging, with the latter allowing the battery to be charged to 80% in less than 60 minutes.

Powering the Mahindra eKUV100 is a 30 kW (40.79 PS) electric motor that gets its juice from a Lithium-ion battery pack that offers a range of over 140 km.

Speaking further about Mahindra's future EV plans, Goenka said: "We have plans for the electric version of the XUV300 SUV that will fill the personal mobility space and deliver comparable range to any other EV available in the market. We are eyeing 300-400 km on a single charge to kill any range anxiety of customers."

Mahindra announces price hike due to upcoming safety norms https://indianautosblog.com/mahindra-announces-price-hike-due-to-upcoming-safety-norms-p317630 Sun, 23 Jun 2019 04:00:10 +0000 https://indianautosblog.com/?p=317630 Mahindra has announced that it will increase the price of its passenger vehicles by up to INR 36,000. The hiked prices will come into effect on 1 July 2019.

Mahindra Thar 700 Copy
Mahindra recently launched the Thar Signature Edition at INR 9.99 lakh*. The special edition model is INR 50,000 more expensive compared to the regular model.

Stricter safety norms (AIS 145) will come into effect on 1 July 2019, as a result, all the automakers are forced to introduce the standard safety features such as driver airbag, seat belt reminder for driver and co-driver, rear parking sensors and speed warning system. The company says that the price hike is a direct result of the newly added safety features.

Talking of the same, SUVs such as the Scorpio, Bolero, TUV300 and KUV100 NXT will bear a substantial price hike, while XUV500 and Marazzo's price will only be hiked very marginally because most of the features are already present as standard in these vehicles. The XUV300 and Alturas G4's price will presumably remain untouched.

The updated price list is yet to be released.

Mahindra Bolero
Mahindra launched the 2019 Bolero Camper also recently, with prices starting at INR 7.26 lakh* and extending up to INR 7.90 lakh*.

Mahindra to discontinue KUV100 NXT's diesel engine - Report https://indianautosblog.com/mahindra-discontinue-kuv100-nxt-diesel-engine-p317227 Wed, 08 May 2019 05:23:08 +0000 https://indianautosblog.com/?p=317227 A new report says that Mahindra may discontinue its 1.2L diesel before the BS-VI emission norms become effective (1 April 2020). Tata Motors is also going to discontinue its 1.2L diesel engine the same way, while Maruti Suzuki has announced the discontinuation of all its diesel engines.

Mahindra KUV100 NXT Silver & Black front three quarters right side
Mahindra KUV 100 NXT comes with two engines options - 1.2-litre petrol and 1.2-litre diesel. The latter will be phased out due to the high BS-VI upgrade costs.

In addition to a 1.2-litre diesel engine, Mahindra uses 1.5-litre, 2.0 litre and 2.2-litre diesel engines for its passenger vehicles. For now, the BS-VI upgrade is being reported to be doubtful for only the smallest unit. The 1.2-litre diesel engine is the mFalcon D75 turbocharged three-cylinder unit that is offered in the KUV100 NXT. It produces 57.4 kW (78.04 PS) of maximum power at 3750 rpm and 190 Nm of peak torque at 1750-2250 rpm. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard with this engine.

BS-VI upgrade is very expensive for diesel engines generally, and on the top of that, Mahindra offers the 1.2L mFalcon D75 engine in only one model, which is not very popular in the market. So, the upgrade costs are very high and the sales volume isn't enough to justify them. The company's line-up is predominantly diesel right now. However, with the advent of BS-VI emission norms, it plans to offer a petrol engine option in all the models, except the Bolero. As for the KUV100 NXT, it's already available with a petrol engine, the 1.2L mFalcon G80 naturally aspirated three-cylinder unit that develops 61 kW (81.94 PS) and 115 Nm of torque.

The Mahindra e-KUV100 made its public debut at Auto Expo 2018. It is one of the two new Mahindra EVs planned to be launched by 2020.

While the Mahindra e-KUV100 shares its bodyshell with the KUV100 NXT, it has a slightly neater design. As the there's no engine requiring cooling, the upper grille has been replaced by a similar-l00king closed panel. The signature vertical slats have a blue accent on them, and there's a similar blue finish on the fog lamp housing. In place of halogen headlights, there are projector headlights with a blue accent.

On the sides, the Mahindra e-KUV100 features blue accents on the alloy wheels, a Mahindra Electric badge on each of the front fenders and sleeker door mouldings. At the rear, it has a grey-coloured tailgate garnish.  A 30 kW (40.79 PS) motor powers this electric vehicle. As for the battery pack, its capacity is unknown, but the company says that it offers a driving range of more than 140 km and takes less than 30 minutes to get charged to 80% using a fast charger.

Mahindra is working on a pure electric variant of the XUV300 as well. Reportedly, it will have a range of 350-400 km.

The Mahindra e-KUV100 was introduced at the Auto Expo 2018.

The Mahindra e-KUV100 was introduced at the Auto Expo 2018. Until dedicated EVs start making sense in terms of volume, Mahindra will continue converting existing ICE-powered vehicles to EVs, and the e-KUV100 is one of those models. While one may argue that it’s just a raised hatchback, the company boasts that it’s India’s first electric SUV.

The Mahindra e-KUV100 uses a 30 kW (40.79 PS) electric motor powered by a Lithium-ion battery pack that provides a range of over 140 km. Fast charging is optional, and it can allow the battery to be charged to 80% in less than an hour.

Mahindra says that the future is not only electric but also connected, and rightly so. It has equipped the e-KUV100 with features like cabin pre-cooling, location tracking, remote diagnostics and more. The car also monitors the driving pattern.

The e-KUV100 is one of the three new EVs for the passenger vehicle market Mahindra Electric plans in the mid-term future. The model at Auto Expo 2018 employs a 30 kW (40.79 PS) electric motor. The company had revealed at the event that its battery provides a range of over 140 km and is chargeable up to 80% capacity using optional fast charging in less than an hour.

Like the Mahindra eVerito, the e-KUV100 uses a low-voltage (72V) Lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP or LiFePO4) battery pack, and it can attain a top speed of 100 km/h. There’s no word on the capacity of the battery pack yet, however.

The pure electric variant of Mahindra’s entry-level SUV will have a slightly different design. It likely won’t feature grille openings as there’s no need for extensive powertrain cooling. Unlike the ICE-powered variant, it may have projector headlamps. Mahindra e-KUV100 to launch in mid-2019, confirms Dr Pawan Goenka https://indianautosblog.com/mahindra-e-kuv100-launch-p315306 Thu, 15 Nov 2018 09:20:03 +0000 https://indianautosblog.com/?p=315306 On the sidelines of the announcement of his company's Q2 results for 2019, Dr Pawan Goenka, managing director, Mahindra & Mahindra revealed that the Mahindra e-KUV100, which made its debut at the Auto Expo 2018, will launch in mid-2019.

Mahindra e-KUV100 front three quarters at Auto Expo 2018
The Mahindra e-KUV100 was promoted as the country's “first electric SUV” at its debut at the Auto Expo in February this year.

Touted as the country's 'first electric SUV', the Mahindra e-KUV100 will be the company's third electric vehicle after the Mahindra eVerito and Mahindra e20 Plus. The electric version of the KUV100 dons a slightly cleaner appearance than its fossil fuel-burning counterparts. This goes with the car's eco-friendly nature. For the electric version, the upper front grille of the KUV100 makes way for a similar looking panel that is devoid of openings.

The six vertical slats on the grille-like panel and the fog lamps have blue accents. Similar blue highlights can be found on the car's projector headlamps. In the side profile, the Mahindra e-KUV100 features blue accents on the machined alloy wheels and Mahindra Electric badge on the front fenders. At the rear, the car features a grey trim for the tailgate. The interior remains mostly unchanged.

Powering the Mahindra e-KUV100 is a 3-phase AC induction motor that outputs a maximum power of 39.6 bhp and a torque of 91 Nm. The electric motor draws its juice from a 72V Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack that offers a driving range of 140 km on a single charge. The company claims that the battery pack can be replenished to 80% of its capacity in less than an hour through a fast charger.
